“This is so wrong” Reactions as Muslim teen couple ties the knot in Sokoto

Reactions have once more trailed online after reports alleged that a 17-year-old boy called Abubakar and a 15-year-old girl named Maryam tied the knot.

According to reports, the two teens recently conducted a nikkah – a marital rite identified as a ‘Muslim wedding’ in Sokoto state, and astonishingly, the family members were present.

People were heavily furious as they condemned the marital bond. Their utterances were centred on the fact that the two teens should be in school striving for their future.

However, some concerned civilians claimed that in the north, young marriage among children is commonplace.

They reacted massively via all the social media platforms according to their views.
