With the transfer window still open, some unexpected movements are yet to happen and some already completed. Looking at the transfers this season, some new signings already have fans expecting much from them especially those with high transfer fees and the hypes following them. Here are some of the Premier League 2020-21 summer signings with high expectations.

Kai Havertz (Chelsea)

Every football fan out there is looking out to see how well Kai Harvetz performs in his new club Chelsea this season and they are not expecting anything less than his price tag of £70 million ($91m) including add-ons. The player already had a bad first game but he sure will be given a chance by fans in the next games since its a new league and a new club for him and as such needs time to adjust.

Timo Werner (Chelsea)

Already showing glimpses of good performances during the pre-season games although he couldn’t grab a goal in his first league game of the season. The player among the fan’s top 5 to win the golden boot this season.

James Rodriguez (Everton)

From a top 4 player to a top 10 player, James really has a lot to prove in the Premier League and not only to the fans but also to his former club, Real Madrid where he was outcasted and limited to just a few games. The Columbian in his first Premier League game already showed his class as his creativity rate spoke for itself. Much is expected from him this season to help Ancelloti’s stars to the top 4.

Donny van de Beek (Manchester United)

Not much is expected from the new signing but he has a lot to prove. The young Dutchman had a good season with his former employers, Ajax, and is expected to continue from where he stopped.
