“I don’t believe in marriage” – Nollywood veteran, Mellisa Osagie

Over the years, marriage has been a key priority to the growth of human race but the Nollywood veteran, Mellisa Osagie has publicly outlined that she prefers companionship and compatibility over a marital union.

While throwing more insight into her view, she encouraged the prodigy of having kids and further outlined that marriage is embedded in one’s choice.

In her words, she said:

“I do not believe in the idea of marriage. I was almost married but I called it off. I believe in the idea of companionship. If one is compatible with one’s partner, one does not need a ring to show that one is committed. It does not validate the marriage.”

“Marriage as an institution has to do with bearing kids. Marriage or no marriage, it is very important for one to have a child. If not for now, at least for old age; even if it has to be done through surrogacy.”

Although she detailed her view, a vast number of people digested her points negatively and heavily lambasted her via all the social media platforms.
